SASVN JOURNAL CLUB

What is a Journal Club??
A journal club is a group of individuals who meet to critically evaluate recent articles in scientific literature.
The aim of the SASVN Journal Club is to

  • offer vascular nurses the opportunity to develop their critical appraisal skills in a supported environment
  • become familiar with different tools that can be used to critique the literature
  • encourage discussion of the quality of the articles evaluated; whether and how the findings can be applied to clinical practice
  • encourage vascular nurses to set time aside to read articles, keep abreast of current research and issues and gain evidence for best practice
  • provide a forum for vascular nurses to network and develop collegiality
