WELCOME TO SVNSW.

In 1998 the NSW Vascular Nurses Interest Group was formed, and in June 2000 we became known as the NSW Chapter of the Society for Vascular Nursing (SVNSW). The NSW Chapter is the first Australian Chapter of the International body – the Society for Vascular Nursing (SVN). In December 2014, the constitution was reviewed and updated at the Annual General Meeting, we have dissolved our Chapter with SVN, and we are now known as “NSW & ACT Society for Vascular Nursing (SVNSW)”.
Our goals are to:

  • Assume the leadership role in defining the vascular component of fundamental nursing education.

  • Establish & implement research based standards of practice for vascular nursing.

  • Collaborate with other professions to address the unique needs of the individual with vascular disease.

  • Enhance public awareness of vascular disease.
